The original ‘Ice Dancing’ was given to my wife for a Valentine’s Day card back in 2009.   Jana, our daughter, had given us dance lessons for Christmas, and we have enjoyed stepping on each other’s feet ever since.   Included in the card was a poem about my dance partner.   The lines were intended to echo some of the seventy’s great disco songs.  “Once when we were young; The disco ball was hung, We met beneath the stars, The Universe was ours…”   I am no Bob Dylan.   If you desire to create art in Minnesota, you have to learn how to do reflections.  The summer lakes are mirrors.  The icy, winter lakes are mirrors.  The wet streets are mirrors.   ‘Ice Dancing’ reflects my skill for creating reflections.
