Again, I drew up ‘Polar Bear Plunge’ in my ‘Fusion’ journal on July 21, 2010.  I penciled in my journal that the concept of the cartoon was derived when my wife contemplated going swimming at our cabin near Eveleth, Minnesota.   Yes, the swimming in Minnesota can be chilly any time of the year.  It is especially chilly if one has a north wind even in July.  I heard her describe her angst, but my mind was picturing the picture puns of polar bears enjoying the beach.   We have donated many of these cards to the Polar Bear Plunge Special Olympics in years past.  The card is almost out of stock, and probably will be reprinted in the second printing of 2018.
